Headstand Progression 1

DESCRIPTION

With this level we will start with a basic tripod and develop your headstand.

1) Start by performing a basic pushup. Where your head finishes on the ground, that's where you should place your head.

2) Once you have your base, place the top of your head on that spot. As long as you can see you're hands you're good. Ideall you have a vertical forearm.

3) Walk one knee in, and it on top of the elbow.

4) Walk the other knee in and put it on top of the other elbow.

5) Raise one foot and then raise the other foot.

Once you have that you'll feel that hands and head on the ground gives you a stable base.

6) From there, try to pick up one knee and put it down. Pick up the other knee and put it down. If that feels good, pick both knees up.

7) Once you can get your legs together in the tripod position, try to slowly lift your legs up and point your toes. The lean in the body is natural.
