DESCRIPTION
Box Jumps advanced- after you have conquered Boxes on boxes beginner.
Exercises:
1. Box Jumps with a burpee- 10 reps
2. Single Leg Box Step ups weighted- 10 reps on left then 10 reps on right (20 reps total)
3. Jump Switch Box Jumps weighted- 15 jumps on each leg (30 jump ups total)
4. Box jumps with extra jump squat- 10 reps
The workout:
1. Pick 4 or 8 strength training exercises. Subset 1 plyometric exercise with 1 or 2 strength exercise. Perform 3-4 sets. (rest 30 sec between each exercise). Then move onto your next set of strength training exercise (1 or 2) and next plyometric subset.
Exercises explained:
1. Box jumps to burpee: jump up onto the box and jump back down as quickly as possibly making sure to extend the legs out at the top of the jump, then quickly perform a burpee chest to floor and jump back up onto the box.
2. Single leg box step ups holding weight: grab a set of dumbbells, start with left leg on the box, jump up pushing through the left leg. Land in the same position you started (left leg on box) and quickly jump back up. After completing 10 reps on left switch to the right.
3. Jump switch box jumps with weight: grab a weighted plate hold with both hands. Start with left leg on the box, jump up pushing through the left leg, switch legs in the air so that when you land you land with right leg on box and left leg on ground., Quickly jump up and return to starting position (that's 1 rep).
4. Box jump with extra jump: jump up onto the box making sure to extend the legs out at the top of the jump, jump forward off the box and quickly squat down and jump straight back up into the air (not on the box). Turn around and repeat.
